Strong To Severe Thunderstorms Possible Monday In CT: Here's When
Here are the updated details on the stormy weather forecast for Connecticut and a look at the Memorial Day weekend weather forecast.
CONNECTICUT — The weekend weather was pretty nice in Connecticut but some strong to severe weather is possible on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. There is also a chance for rain showers and thunderstorms overnight too.
Showers and thunderstorms may roll in overnight and then there is a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening. A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties for Monday and Tuesday.
The National Weather Service says, "Monday...A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible between 2 and 9 pm Monday to the northwest of the Boston to Providence corridor. The highest risk will be across interior Massachusetts and northern Connecticut.

"The main threats with any severe thunderstorms would be localized damaging wind gusts and large hail. There also is a low probability for a tornado. Lastly, brief torrential rainfall may result in localized street flooding."
The good news is that Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday look very good with plenty of sunshine and dry conditions. There is a chance for some rain showers next Saturday during Memorial Day weekend but as of now Sunday looks good.

We're watching the threat for strong to severe thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. Strong winds and an isolated tornado are the main threats in any storm that forms. #nbcct pic.twitter.com/jGjN30M3zz

Interesting storm setup tomorrow. Thunderstorms should be isolated (or could even be all to our north) but with quite a bit of low level shear there is a tornado risk. We will be watching closely for you. pic.twitter.com/eIs647gIsp

There is a chance for severe storms Monday PM but honestly I don’t have a lot of confidence yet. We certainly have enough instability/wind shear but it’s not a slam dunk due to some conflicting factors. So for now, plan for at least the chance for storms.
