Sundae House's Loyal Fans Demanded the Business Open This Spring
The owner died in January and the family was considering closing the popular ice cream business but the customers wouldn't have that.

MILFORD, CT — There was some doubt whether the famous Sundae House on New Haven Avenue would open this spring after Jimmie Simone, 74, the owner died in January, WTNH News 8 reports.
The Sundae House has been an institution in Milford for the past 55 years. The family decided to keep the business open after loyal customers urged them to not close.
“My phone was blowing up left and right. You have to open, you have to open. So basically I guess we had no choice,” said John Simone, via WTNH News 8. The Sundae House indeed did open late last week.

John works full time and couldn't quit and that had thrown the future of the popular ice cream business in peril. But the family decided to carry on and it will still be run by family, the Milford Mirror reports.
The family said Jimmie Simone also would have wanted the business to continue on.
