Suspected Shoplifting Goes Swimmingly

A teen has been charged with stealing a $19 bathing suit from Sears, according to police.

The teen, identified as Alana Farnsworth, 19, of 465 Highland Ave., Middletown, was charged Tuesday with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, police said.

The warrant arrest stemmed from a complaint in April that a young woman had taken a bathing suit from the Sears department store at the Westfield Shoppingtown/Connecticut Post Mall without paying for it, according to police.

Farnsworth was released on a promise to appear in court Sept. 20, police said.
