Terrence “Terry” Guth, 80, of Milford, beloved husband of Silvia Guth, passed away on June 17, 2024. Born on May 26, 1944, in Brookville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Walter and Catherine Guth.
Terry graduated from Brookville High School, Brookville Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S. Little Rock during the Vietnam War. He served as a Surface Missile Fire Controller, Petty Officer 3rd Class. Terry learned engineering and computer programming in the Navy, which prepared him for a long and successful career in the field of technology. He was honorably discharged in 1968, then completed two more years in the reserves. Following his time in the service, he relocated to Connecticut to begin working at Bunker Ramo, a computer company headquartered in Stamford. During this time, he met the love of his life, Silvia DiMarino at a “conversational cocktail lounge”. They married after eleven months and shared a life together for the next fifty-six years. The young couple moved from Stamford to Milford in 1969 where they settled and raised their two children. Terry was known to be a smart, hardworking, generous, and kind person. He was well loved by many, but especially his family who knew him as “the most wonderful husband, father and grandfather”. He was always a voice of reason who was there to support his family no matter what they needed. When he wasn’t coaching his kids in sports or helping them with homework, he loved playing golf, bowling, and playing cards with his many friends. A true handy man around the house, he was a great carpenter, electrician, and could fix anything that his family broke. He was a gracious host who was quick with a joke and always made those around him feel at ease. Terry was a true “jokester” who loved to make people laugh. Even in the last days of life, Terry made a point to make his family and nurses laugh as they cared for him. He enjoyed making everyone smile but most importantly, his beloved wife Silvia. He was a selfless individual who never sought the spotlight. Even as Terry’s health declined, he never complained about how he felt or about his illness. He was always more concerned with the needs and wishes of others than his own.
Terry is survived by his two Sons, Kevin Guth (Kellie) and Stephen Guth (Tara). His seven Grandchildren Madeline, Hannah, Ella, Ryan, Dylan, Addison, and Peyton. His Brother Mike Guth (Diane), and his Brother In Law & Sister In Law John and Linda DiMarino, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
