Theodore H. Goodwin

After settling in Milford with Carol, Ted quickly became deeply woven into the fabric of the community.

The family of Theodore Hamilton Goodwin sadly announces his passing on May 25, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born on February 7, 1940, in Rumford, Maine, Ted lived a life defined by dedication to his family, his country, and the Milford community he proudly called home for so many years.
Ted shared 60 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Carol Robertson Goodwin. Together they built a close and devoted family that brought him immense pride and joy. He is survived by his sons, Kevin Goodwin and his wife Maggie, and Brian Goodwin and his wife Melissa. Ted was a proud grandfather to Lauren (John), Jake (Becca), Sean, Tyler, and Trevor, and great grandfather to Sage and Kai, all of whom brought great happiness to his life.
Ted was predeceased by his brother Richard and his sister Patricia Bloszko. He is also survived by his brother Danny, who resides in Florida.
A proud veteran, Ted served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Anyone who knew Ted likely heard one of his many cherished stories from his time aboard the USS Intrepid, memories he carried proudly throughout his life.
After settling in Milford with Carol, Ted quickly became deeply woven into the fabric of the community. His commitment to civic involvement and service earned him the affectionate nickname, “the mayor” of Milford. He was an active member and former President of the Milford Club and Milford Rotary Club and was also heavily involved in the Milford Jaycees. Ted seemed to know everyone in town, and everyone knew Ted.
Professionally, Ted dedicated himself to a long and respected banking career. Where he spent many years at People’s Bank, but it was at Milford Bank where he truly found his professional home and established many lifelong friendships and connections.
Ted also had a love for travel and treasured the winters he and Carol spent together in Florida over the years. Loyal, outgoing, and endlessly devoted to the people he cared about, Ted left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Above all else, Theodore Hamilton Goodwin loved his family, his country, and his Milford community with all his heart. His presence, stories, laughter, and unwavering loyalty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
The family welcomes all to remember Theodore and to greet the family on Monday, June 1st from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the GREGORY DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 2nd at 10:30 a.m. (DIRECTLY) at Saint Ann Church (St. Raphael Parish) 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford. Interment with Military Honors at King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ted’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
