Threatening Arrests

A Milford man was busted at Milford Hospital after being told his acquaintancxe could not have visitors -- and then allegedly returning, causing a ruckus in the lobby and threatening to come back with a gun, police said.

The incident unfolded around 5 p.m. Sept. 30 when Walter Bears, 58, of 79 North St., went to the hospital on Seaside Avenue and tried to visit an acquaintance, but was told the patient was not allowed visitors, according to police.

"Bears left the building after being asked to," police said, "but then returned a short time after and created a disturbance inside the lobby area.

"As Bears was in the parking lot area, he allegedly claimed he was gong to return with a fireaarm."

The suspect was held in lieu of $500 bond pending a court appearance, police said.

Later on Sept. 30, police say they busted another man on charges of threatening and breach of peace after receiving a complaint of a domestic disturbance at the Milford Inn.

"Investigation led to the arrest of (John) Jaser, who is accused of threatening to harm a family member with a knife during the incident," police said.

Jaser, 29, of West Haven, was released on a promise to appear in court, according to police.
