CT Weather: Thunderstorms, Rain Today, Heat Index Soars
Connecticut will see big weather changes beginning today and there is a chance for thunderstorms today too. Here's when to expect storms.

CONNECTICUT — It's another Wednesday and that once again means there is a chance for thunderstorms and rain today. The unsettled weather is expected to continue into Thursday morning as well.
There are also some major weather changes coming today too as the heat index approaches 90 degrees today in parts of the state but by Friday the high temperatures struggle to hit 70 degrees.
WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons says that thunderstorms are most likely today between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. in Connecticut.

"Our local weather will feature warm temperatures for the afternoon with humidity. Highs will range from 78 near the water to 86 inland! The heat index will be near 90. Mostly dry with hazy sun, there could be a scattered thunderstorms between 5 and 8 PM. Couple of showers possible tomorrow as cooler air arrives. Beautiful on Friday the 13th with sunshine and temperatures between 68 and 70. Mostly dry Saturday with a late thunderstorm. Warming back up to the 80s on Sunday!" Simmons wrote on his social media.
The National Weather Service adds that a "few showers and thunderstorms are possible ahead of and in the vicinity of the front late today and tonight, with some lingering activity possible on Thursday. Hot weather away from the immediate coasts today, with highs approaching 90 west of the Hudson River. Temperatures will cool by several degrees on Thursday with increasing winds from the east."
