Victim Pinned By Own Truck At Dunkin' Donuts Drive-Thru: Milford Fire
The victim was trying to pick up loose change that fell at the drive-thru window when his pick-up truck accidentally rolled forward.

MILFORD, CT — A man suffered serious injuries Friday in what fire officials are calling a "freak accident" that occurred at a drive-thru window at a local Dunkin' Donuts in Milford. The man went to pick up loose change that had dropped and became pinned when his pickup truck accidentally rolled forward, said Battalion Fire Chief Anthony Fabrizi.
What ensued was a complicated rescue involving construction equipment that was used to free the victim after about 20 minutes, Fabrizi said. The man was rushed to Yale-New Haven Trauma Center where his current condition is unknown.
Emergency responders received the call at 12:10 p.m. The man became pinned in the driver-side doorway of his pickup truck at the 594 New Haven Ave. Dunkin' Donuts, Fabrizi said. He was utilizing the drive-thru line when the incident occurred, the fire official said.

“After completing his transaction, the driver stepped out of his vehicle in an attempt to retrieve his change that had been dropped on the ground. The vehicle inadvertently rolled forward causing the driver's door to strike a steel and concrete baluster. The man was then entrapped between the door and body of the pickup truck,” Fabrizi said.
Firefighters arrived and quickly worked to extricate the victim. Numerous tools and construction equipment being carried inside the vehicle complicated the extrication process, Fabrizi added.
