Who Makes The Best Pizza In Town?

Take Out: Two Friends Pizza House & Papa's Pizza and Pasta

I ordered 2 pies each from Papa's Pizza and Pasta and Two Friends Pizza House.

The orders were both accurate and ready within 20 minutes.

In addition to the regular toppings, Papa's has 20 mouth-watering specialty pies along with pasta dishes, calzones and salads. There were so many choices that were tempting, but the kids wanted broccoli and pepperoni, so I stuck to the basics. The smell was overwhelming, so we all grabbed a slice when we got back into the car. The cheese (sm $7.00 ) was the typical brick-oven style with a thin crispy crust with charred edges. There is more sauce than cheese when you get close to the crust. The sauce is really tasty. If a sauce isn't good, it can throw off the whole pizza. Every bite of this pizza is bursting with flavor. I discarded the crust, but that is only because I prefer it chewy (which of course is not brick-oven style). If you do not prefer it as charred, you have the option of telling them beforehand.

The half broccoli/half pepperoni (small $8.25) was cooked perfectly as well. The broccoli was just right and the pepperoni was a bit greasy, sliding off the slices (in a good way!). So good.

This was my first time trying Two Friends Pizza House, so I asked if it was cooked in a brick oven and the woman told me it was. It definitely didn't seem like brick oven. Even so, this is the type of pizza I prefer so that was fine.

It is a round pan pizza with a slightly crispy crust on the outside and chewy on the inside. The dough is not at all charred and was thicker than Papa's. The cheese pie ($6.00) was loaded with mozzarella and tasted good.  Everything stays in tact on these slices (a "neat" pizza to eat). Our half broccoli/half pepperoni ($8.00) was also tasty.

Two Friends also serves a large menu of hamburgers, several salads,  fried seafood, Italian dinners, grinders and Greek specialties. Two Friends also offers a "mini" personal pizza for $2.25.

Bottom Line: Papa's and Two Friends make really good pies, but Papa's surpasses in flavor.
