The water in a section of Milford turned green on Wednesday. Here's why.

MILFORD, CT — The water turned green in Milford on Wednesday. NBC Connecticut reports that the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is investigating after a car wash on New Haven Avenue had cleaning materials spill into drains that flow into a steam, which turned the water green.
Officials told NBC Connecticut that the substance that turned the water green was actually liquid wax and that the business is working with a contractor to clean up the spill.
