Winann Steinmetz, age 77, beloved wife of Dale H. Steinmetz, of Milford entered into peaceful rest on June 11, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Born on March 5, 1948 in Milford, she was the loving daughter of Eugenia Devlin Danyko. Winann only left Milford briefly to attend Central Connecticut State University before returning to use her degree teaching. Winann saw opportunity in the growing field of computers and dedicated herself to learning the skills to succeed. She went on to work as a programmer for CitiTrust, Chase Bank, IBM, SNET, and finally ended her IT career with AT&T. Not one to remain idle, Winann became the director of activities at Carriage Green in Milford. Winann was a talented Lace maker and loved sharing and learning with her wonderful friends at the New England Lace Group.

In addition to her husband, Winann leaves her devoted sons, Kirk Norton and his wife Janet Warner of East Haven, Scott Norton and his wife Crystal of Bethany, Jeff Steinmetz and his wife Jen of Ansonia, and Jason Steinmetz and his wife Kellie of Canton, South Dakota. She was blessed to be called “Nana” by five grandchildren, Noah Steinmetz, Jacob Swendsen, Ailinn Steinmetz, Aspen Steinmetz, and Soleigh Steinmetz. Survivors include her sister, Donna Magnuson and her husband Glenn, and their children Todd and Lisa as well as Rosalie Bares, her best friend and constant companion in life.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th at 10 a.m. at the DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. Interment to follow in King's Highway Cemetery, Milford. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
