Woman Charged With Negligent Homicide In Fatal Crash, Milford Police Say

A woman was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle in connection to a crash that led to a Milford woman's death, police said.

MILFORD, CT — A woman is accused of causing a three-car accident that led to a woman's death, according to Milford police.

Nina L. Reed, 43, of Providence, Rhode Island, was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and failure to obey a stop sign.

Police responded May 10 at 6:06 p.m. on a report of a serious three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Boston Post Road and the Milford Parkway.

Reed was driving north on the Milford Parkway in a 2021 Jeep Compass when she left the road, drove across the grass, entered Boston Post Road, and hit the front end of a 2020 Toyota Corolla, police said.

The Corolla, which had been driving west on Boston Post Road, was then hit by a 2014 Chevrolet Volt.

Michael Sullivan and his wife Frances, of Milford, were in the Corolla. They suffered significant injuries. Firefighters took them to Bridgeport Hospital.

The next day, Frances Sullivan died due to her injuries in the crash. She was 59, according to her obituary.

Reed was arrested after turning herself into Milford police on an outstanding arrest warrant. She was processed and released on the same day after posting $70,000 bond.

She is scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on Aug. 5.
