Woman Attacked Shielding Her Dog From Two Pit Bulls in Milford

The woman was walking at Eisenhower Park when two pit bulls appeared and began to attack her dog.

A woman walking in Eisenhower Park Saturday afternoon jumped on top of her dog to shield it from two pit bulls, who attacked her dog, and she suffered a puncture wound to her face over her lip, confirmed Jeffrey Nielsen who is the Milford Police Department spokesman.

Nielsen told Milford Patch Wednesday that the woman, who is not from around here, was walking on the North Street side of the park on one of the walking trails.

Out of nowhere, two pit bulls attacked her dog, and the woman jumped on top of her dog, whose breed is not known, shielding it from the pit bulls, Nielsen said.

Police are asking anyone who knows the identity of the man who owns the pit bulls to call Officer Joseph Sikorsky at 203.878.6551.

Nielsen said police are investigating the case.

Nielsen stressed the Eisenhower Park has a fenced in dog park on the West River Street side, and the park has strict leash laws for people walking their dogs on the trails.
