Woman Suffers Serious Injuries During Assault: Milford Police

The accused is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.

MILFORD, CT — A Milford man is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond after he is accused of punching and strangling a woman, which led to serious injuries, police said Monday.

On March 9, police responded to a West Town Street apartment on the report of a possible domestic violence incident.

Investigation led to the arrest of Russell Molleur, 56, of Jepson Drive, who is accused of striking a female victim several times in the face with a closed fist and strangling her, police said. The victim was hospitalized in serious but stable injuries, police said.

He is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree strangulation, first-degree unlawful restraint, and tampering with evidence.
