19-Year-Old Killed in Crash: Monroe PD

A young Monroe woman was killed in a car accident on Tuesday night when her vehicle crashed into a pole and flipped over.

MONROE, CT-- Monroe Police Department said that a fatal motor vehicle crash on March 15, 2016 took the life of a young woman.

Police said in a release that the one-vehicle roll-over crash was in the area of 295 Garder Road Tuesday evening at 9:40 p.m. The driver of a 2004 GMC Envoy traveling east went off the road, colliding with a pole and rolling over, police said.

The driver, who police said was 19-year-old Sarah Squinobal of 72 Benedict Road, was partially ejected and was the lone occupant of the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
