Part of Elm Street Closed After Car Strikes Utility Pole: Monroe Police

Eversource and Frontier are on scene.

MONROE, CT — Part of Elm Street is closed after a car struck a pole causing a crack in the utility pole, according to Monroe Police Lt. Rosalie Stuart.

The road has been closed from Rte. 111 to Purdy Hill Road since the accident, Stuart told Patch. Nobody was injured, but the crash caused a crack in the pole.

Eversource and Frontier are currently on scene. Police say that a pole and wires are down. Residents are asked to seek alternate routes.
