Additional Light Snow Accumulation Expected for Monroe Tonight

More snow is expected for later in the week and subzero temperatures are on the horizon.

The winter storm that just won’t quit is still going to drop another inch of snow from now until around midnight, the National Weather Service said in its latest advisory at 3:30 p.m.

In fact a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until midnight because an additional inch of snow is expected to fall on top of what has already fallen. Some sleet and freezing rain could mix in as well.

Precipitation from this storm has been falling lightly and off and on since late Saturday.

The National Weather Service states travel may be “hazardous” due to snow covered and icy roads.

And the National Weather Service already is predicting that the next winter storm will come on Thursday. There is a 70 percent chance of snow beginning after noon on Thursday, and a 60 percent chance it continues into Thursday evening.

No projected snowfall accumulations have been made as of now.

And it gets worse, as low temperatures at night by the end of the week will be below zero with high temperatures in the teens during the day.
