MONROE, CT — Monroe is set to receive more than $260,000 in additional state funding under the newly approved state budget.
The town would receive a total increase of about $262,322, including $210,918 in education aid and $51,404 in municipal funding, according to figures released by Gov. Ned Lamont’s office.
The funding is part of a broader statewide effort to increase support for school districts and municipalities, with the goal of helping communities manage rising costs without increasing property taxes.
State officials said the funding is designed to close budget gaps in local schools and town services while providing relief for residents.
The budget was approved by lawmakers and is expected to be signed by the governor.
