MONROE, CT — Gandolf, the friendly goat found wandering near Webb Mountain Park earlier this month, will soon be looking for a forever home.
Monroe Animal Control announced this week that the senior Lamancha-type billy goat is expected to be available for adoption after receiving some extra care at the shelter.
Officials said Gandolf has been dewormed and is being fed regularly to help him gain weight.
"We think he looks way better already!" the department wrote in a social media post.
Animal control also shared that Gandolf has developed a fondness for soft, cushy dog beds, thanks in part to a recent donation from Monroe resident Clare Biagioni.
The department previously searched for Gandolf's owner after he was found roaming near Webb Mountain Park. With no owner coming forward, officials now plan to place him up for adoption.
Information about the adoption process is expected to be available through Monroe Animal Control.
