• Monroe Hot Sauce Company Refuses Recall Amid Botulism Risk: State (patch.com) — Monroe residents are being urged not to consume any Phire in the Hole hot sauces after state officials issued a cease-and-desist order over botulism concerns, saying the Monroe-based company refused a recall. Products were sold at Beardsley's Cider Mill in Shelton through mid-August, and while no illnesses are reported, the state warns that improperly processed sauces can cause serious, potentially fatal food poisoning.
