• Person, Dog Die In Monroe House Fire: Officials (patch.com) — Monroe officials are investigating a late-night house fire on Cottage Street in the Stevenson section that left one adult and a dog dead. Volunteer firefighters from Monroe and nearby towns battled heavy flames for hours, kept crews safe from injury, and closed part of Cottage Street Monday morning while the Fire Marshal examines the cause.
