An Edible Donation

Monroe Food Pantry patrons got a load of fresh cargo Wednesday

An Edible Arrangements van loaded with boxes and boxes of pineapples, cantaloupes, honeydew and concord grapes pulled into the driveway of Monroe Food Pantry Wednesday afternoon.

Peter Russo, who recently opened an Edible Arrangements at 525 Main St., normally prepares fruit by dipping it in chocolate inside his shop, but this donation included nothing but fresh fruit for families down on their luck.

The truck load included nine boxes of honeydew, seven of cantaloupes, seven of pineapples and three of concord grapes.
