Arctic Blast in Monroe Brings Snow and More Cold Temperatures This Weekend

The cold will continue in Monroe this weekend with a possible chance of more snow on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents awoke to a beautiful coating of white on their lawns Friday morning as Mother Nature brought the first snow of the season. More of the fluffy white stuff could come Sunday night as the artcic blast from the north pushes the cool winds down.

Here’s your local weekend forecast from the National Weather Service:

  • This afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 38. Wind chill values between 30 and 35. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph.
  • Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 22. Northwest wind 3 to 5 mph.
  • Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 39. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Light northwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
  • Saturday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 24. Calm wind.
  • Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. Light south wind becoming southwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
  • Sunday Night: A slight chance of rain and snow before 11pm, then a chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 33. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
