MONROE, CT — A black bear was spotted in a couple locations in town, including Webb Circle where it entered a garage and ate a bag of sunflower seeds.

The bear was seen a few times Sunday and was last seen on Mustang Drive munching on some berries, according to the Monroe Sun.

Black bears have become more common in Connecticut in recent years, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. They normally will avoid people, but food such as bird feeders or trash can attract them toward residential areas.
