Browsing Monroe's Beautiful Boutiques

Browsing in one of the town's eclectic boutiques is a great way to spend a chilly day

Patch will run a weekly feature, called Patch Picks that highlights editors and readers choices for great local businesses, organizations, services, and so on.

You’ll find useful lists to help you, your family, friends and significant others find the best places for everything from where to find the best places for pizza, a day in the sun (soon!) and a night on the town.

Places to shop for specialty, one-of-a-kind gifts

  • If you’re looking for something to spruce up your spouse’s Easter basket or an interesting house warming or birthday gift, take a peek at Gift Chalet on Monroe Turnpike. Interesting artsy wares are worth the visit.
  • Although is a garden center with beautiful shrubs and plants available for purchase, it’s also the place to go for a Vera Bradley hand bag, purse and tote bags. Other collectibles, knick knacks and scented candles are also found here year-round.
  • , located at 115 Main Street, is a great place to look for something with a spiritual bent. Time flies by as I browse among their religious-inspired jewelry, statues, books and, of course, angel motif items.
  •  When you’re not quite sure the kind of home goods and accessories you want, take a look at , located at 477 Main Street in the Clocktower Plaza. Lamps, linens, rugs and bath products for your home, and stationery, bags, scarves and much more in this special store.
  • has half-price cards, photo frames, contemporary home decorations and personal gift items. It’s a fun place to spend time choosing that special present to go along with your heartfelt greeting card.
