Child Among 2 Taken To Hospital After Head-On Crash In Monroe: Officials

MONROE, CT — Two people, including a child, were taken to the hospital after a head-on collision on Monroe Turnpike Saturday evening, according to the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department.

Monroe police, EMS and volunteer firefighters responded to the crash near the town green around 7:25 p.m., fire officials said.

Both people were transported to the hospital for evaluation. The department did not release information about their conditions or whether they suffered injuries.

Firefighters addressed fluids spilled onto the roadway and helped clear a significant amount of debris from the crash scene.
