Citations Issued to Three Monroe Businesses for Selling Tobacco to Minors
A total of 10 businesses were inspected.

Three Monroe businesses were found to be selling tobacco products to minors, the Monroe Courier reports.
During an April 16 enforcement program conducted by the Monroe Police Department and members of the State Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Tobacco Prevention and Enforcement Program, a total of 10 unannounced compliance inspections were conducted in Monroe, the paper reports.
The three businesses found to be selling tobacco to minors under the age of 18 were Brand Cigars located at 230 Roosevelt Drive, Henry Penny, 21 Roosevelt Drive and Buck Stop, 456 Main Street.

According to the paper, the offending clerks were given a $200 infraction ticket and the cigarette dealer license holders at each establishment will face additional administrative sanctions.
