Construction Of Water Pump Station Kicks Off In Monroe
The new pump station building will be constructed on the Pastors Walk lot, northeast of the property's water storage tank.
MONROE, CT — Aquarion Water Company launched construction of a project to replace an existing pump station located at 219 Pastors Walk in Monroe on Tuesday.
The project is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water and service. The project’s infrastructure upgrades will also help to maintain system pressure and fire flow capacity throughout the region, according to a news release from Aquarion.
The new pump station building will be constructed on the Pastors Walk lot, northeast of the property’s water storage tank. After activation of the new pump station, the existing pump station will be demolished. The project is expected to be completed in Spring 2024.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience during this project,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Capital Delivery, Engineering and Planning. “We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions.”
Normal working hours during construction will be Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The project is expected to have limited impacts on local traffic, according to Aquarion officials. Kovacs Construction Corporation will be serving as the general contractor for the pump station replacement project.
