'Conversational Reading is Grand' Workshop Offered in Monroe
Workshops for grandparents and older adults who care for children offered by Edith Wheeler Memorial Library.

Are you a grandparent or older adult who cares for children? Do you want to help your grandchildren or the children that you care for to enjoy the books that you share with them and to develop a lifelong love of reading?
Join Michelle Turbak, Edith Wheeler Memorial Library Children’s Services Librarian, for a workshop on Conversational Reading - the art of asking questions and talking about books with children. Learn tips for reading aloud to young children and ways to have a conversation with grandchildren who are into technology or who live far away. Preview our new Grandparents Conversational Reading Collection and get ideas for conversation starters and interesting books to share with the children in your life. In addition, one lucky attendee will win a tote bag and a copy ofDiane Frankenstein’s book, Reading Together: Everything You Need to Know to Raise a Child Who Loves to Read! Refreshments will be served.
This workshop will be offered four times - twice at the Monroe Senior Center and twice at the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library.
