Crash on Route 111 in Monroe Under Investigation
Police released additional details regarding the crash on Tuesday.

The Monroe Police Department received multiple reports of a head-on motor vehicle crash on Route 111 north of Kettle Creek on April 17.
According to police, the investigation revealed that Jessica Hartmayer, 21, of Shelton was traveling North on Route 111 in her 2001 Mitsubishi Montero. She crossed over the center line colliding head-on with a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Vincent Carbone Jr., 54, of Monroe, police said.
Carbone had to be extricated from his vehicle by members of Monroe, Stevenson and Stepney Volunteer Fire Departments.

Police said it is unknown why Hartmayer crossed over the center line.
Both Hartmeyer , Carbone and a female passenger in Carbone’s vehicle were transported and admitted to St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport with serious physical injuries.
