Dealer Tied To Monroe Overdose Pleads Guilty

The matter stems from a statewide initiative that targets narcotics dealers who sell drugs that cause serious injury or death to users.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A Bridgeport man plead guilty in connection to a Monroe overdose in May of 2016, according to U.S. Attorney Deirdre M. Daly.

Daquone Johnson, 24, waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty in New Haven Federal Court to a charge of heroin distribution. Johnson's plea stems from a May 9 overdose where a woman was found unresponsive in a Monroe home and later died.

While caring for the woman, hospital staff located unopened heroin folds on the woman's person. Investigation later revealed the woman had ordered heroin from Johnson on the day of her death.
