Educational Program Monroe Reads Together is a partnership between local librarians, teachers, residents and business owners seeking to promote the joys and benefits of reading by choosing a book for a town-wide read this Summer. The book is Dinner with the Smileys: One Military Family, One Year of Heroes, and Lessons for a Lifetime. Special events at the library and in schools during October and November will bring the community together to talk about the book and the issues it presents.

Physical and downloadable copies are available at the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, from Amazon.com, OverDrive Digital Books and Audible.com. Representatives from Monroe Reads Together will be at the market this week to promote the program and a visit by the author coming in November.

Lemonade StandThis Friday, Project Warmth is running the Lemonade Stand. The Project Warmth Fund was created by the Town of Monroe to help Monroe residents bridge the gap between energy assistance programs. They will be raising funds at the market this week in order to provide assistance to those in need this coming Winter.
