The Monroe Historical Society opens the local history room
at the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library each week to the public from 1-3 pm on Saturdays.
Dates for April are April 7, April 14 and April 21. Several important artifacts on display include
paintings by the 19th century Burr sisters of Elm Street, the bicentennial
quilt depicting Monroe history, cemetery records, Monroe photograph
collections, World War II letters, and early school registers. Please contact
