Expect Delays: Water Infrastructure Work Underway in Monroe

A water main project calls for replacing approximately 6,700 feet of water main in Monroe.

MONROE, CT — Aquarion Water Company has begun a water main replacement project in Monroe that is expected to cause minor traffic delays.

Work began on Barn Hill Road, Hillside Lane, Sunset Hill Drive, Wiltan Drive, and Winslow Terrace started in March and is expected to be completed by June 2023. Final paving will then be scheduled in coordination with the Town of Monroe.

The project calls for replacing approximately 6,700 feet of water main. The upgrades are meant to ensure the highest quality water, and reduce leaks and water main breaks that can cause service interruptions, according to a news release from Aquarion.

Due to construction, residents should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during the working hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Norwalk-based M. Rondano will be serving as the contractor for the water main replacement project.
