Fire Doused At Monroe Industrial Building: FD
The incident happened early Friday morning, according to the fire department.
MONROE, CT — A fire broke out at a large industrial building on Main Street early Friday morning, fire officials said.
No one was injured during the incident.
Volunteer firefighters responded to the scene, at 246 Main St., around 5:30 a.m. after being alerted by an automatic fire alarm.

Employees of the business used a fire extinguisher to contain the fire within a machine unit, according to the fire department.
A manufacturing company called Biomerics is located at 246 Main St.

Fire Marshal William Davin said the fire was already out when firefighters arrived, but it left behind smoky conditions in the building.
Firefighters used several fans to ventilate the building of smoke, and they were able to clear the scene after about 40 minutes.
According to Davin, the fire was contained to a machine, and caused limited damage to it.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The business’ employees were able to return to work shortly afterward, officials said.
