MONROE, CT — Firefighters responded to a brush fire in Monroe on Sunday afternoon as officials warn of elevated fire risk conditions across Connecticut.

According to the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, crews were called to the area of Bagburn Road around 2 p.m.

Firefighters from Monroe and Stevenson worked to extinguish the fire in a wooded area, officials said.
