First Selectman Announces Recipients of Golf Outing Proceeds

A number of Monroe Public School programs will receive funds from the First Selectman's First Annual Golf Outing. Sponsors are needed.

MONROE, CT — First Selectman Steve Vavrek announced the charity recipients for the first annual golf outing.

The Monroe Public School 501 (c) 3 programs to receive the funds are the Masuk Parent - Teacher Club, Masuk All Sport Booster Club, Masuk Robotics and the Masuk Music Parents Association.

Organizers of the event are asking residents to donate bundled snacks, cases of water and/or cases of beer (cans) only. Donors will receive family outing day recognition,. Vavrek said, "You will have an active role in keeping the costs down by contributing to a great cause."

The outing is scheduled for May 25 at Whitney Farms. Registration and lunch begins at 11 a.m. A shotgun start will be held at 12 noon. Cocktails and dinner follow at 5:30 p.m.

Registration is $200. There are prizes, on-course competitions and a professional cigar-roller will be on site. To sign up to play, sponsor and/or supply raffle and/or silent auction prizes, please contact Tanya Bombero at 203-452-2821.
