Free Learn-To-Fish Event Planned In Monroe

The event will include equipment and instruction for beginners, with registration required.

MONROE, CT — A free learn-to-fish event is planned next month at Wolfe Park in Monroe, offering instruction and equipment for beginners.

The “Fish with CARE” event will take place May 7 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Great Hollow Lake, according to organizers.

The program is open to adults and families with children ages 6 and up, and all equipment and instruction will be provided.

Participants ages 16 and older are required to have a valid Connecticut fishing license. Families with children aged 6 years old and above can also participate. Registration is required.

The event is hosted in partnership with Monroe Parks and Recreation.
