Girlfriend Overdoses, Boyfriend Busted On Drug Charges In Monroe: Report

The incident occurred at a home on Maple Drive.

MONROE, CT — A 23-year-old Monroe man was arrested on narcotics charges this week after his 19-year-old girlfriend was hospitalized from a fentanyl-laced heroin overdose, reports the Connecticut Post.

Arrested on sale of a controlled substance and related charges was Douglas Boyle, of Maple Drive.

Police were called to the home on July 2 after the 19-year-old was found unconscious, and officers had to administer multiple doses of Naloxone to revive her. The incident is one of the latest in the state, which is grappling with an epidemic of opioid-related overdoses.

Authorities subsequently obtained a warrant to search the home and found the fentanyl-laced heroin and other drugs.
