Update: Power Restored to Hundreds of Monroe Residents

As of 1 p.m., power has been restored. Mitch Gross, Eversource Connecticut media relations representative, told Patch that the outage was in the area of Moose Hill Road and was caused by downed power lines. The Eversource outage map is showing 248 Connecticut Eversource customers currently without power across the state, down from over 600 earlier today.

Eversource reports that 551 Monroe residents are currently without power. Over 600 are currently without power across the state.

Locally, 2 Eversource customers in Shelton are without power, 1 in Redding and 1 in Wilton. Monroe shows the highest percentage of customers without power.

A dispatcher with the Monroe police could not confirm the reason for the outage and a representative could not be reached for comment.

The National Weather Service predicted strong winds of 15-20 miles per hour on Tuesday, with temperatures in the mid 50s.
