Jewelry, Rifle Stolen From Monroe Home: Cops

A Bridgeport man is facing charges.

A Bridgeport man is facing charges after a reported larceny on Downs Road.

According to police, the homeowner returned from vacation and found that numerous items were stolen from his home including a .22 caliber rifle, jewelry, cash and camera equipment. The homeowner’s daughter did not go on vacation but held a party at the residence on the Fourth of July, police said.

About 10 people attended the party, one of whom stayed overnight and was told not to enter the parents’ bedroom, where most of the items were stolen from.

Police found that the suspect, Scott Dennis, 25, of Bridgeport pawned most of the items. Dennis was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and theft of a firearm on Dec. 2.

Dennis was incarcerated on unrelated charges.
