Kathryn J. Antrim, 88, of Monroe, Passed Away

She was very active in the Monroe Senior Center, the Monroe Republican Party and was named Republican of the Year in 1995.

MONROE, CT — Kathryn J. Antrim, age 88, of Monroe, entered into rest on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton. She was the devoted wife of the late Louis C. Antrim, Jr. Kathryn was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 7, 1927, daughter of the late Walter and Elsie (Henn) Schmitt, and lived in Monroe most of her life.

She was very active in the Monroe Republican Party for years. She always counted votes on election day, was honored as Republican of the Year in 1995, and was the first recipient of the Kay Antrim Lifetime Achievement Award, so named in her honor. Kathryn was also active at the Monroe Senior Center, where she enjoyed knitting in support of various worthy causes. She also enjoyed reading in her spare time.

She was the beloved mother of Michael Antrim and wife his Peg, Patricia Antrim Gagner and her fiance Louis Couture, and Timothy Antrim and his wife Deborah. She also leaves five cherished grandchildren, Sean Antrim and his wife Chelsea, Kerry Antrim Palmiero and her husband Robert, Megan Antrim Moore and her husband Mathew, Kelley Foiw Cunningham and her husband Matthew, and Chad Gagner, Kathryn was also predeceased by a grandson, Brian Antrim Foiw. She also leaves seven adoring great-grandchildren, Geneva, Tre, Sydney, Kaelin, Maddox, Lauren, and Erin.

Friends may greet her family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday April 21,2016 from 4 to 6 PM. A memorial service will take place in the funeral home at 5 PM. Online condolences can be offered at www.riverviewfh.com.
