Mail Carriers Collecting Donations to Support Monroe Food Pantry

A food drive to support the Monroe Food Pantry will be held on Saturday, May 13.

MONROE, CT — A food drive to support the Monroe Food Pantry will be held on Saturday, May 13.

Mail carriers will be picking up bagged, non-perishable food items placed by residents' mail boxes, when they deliver mail.

All donations will stay within Monroe.

Suggested items include pasta, cereal, oatmeal, canola oil, peanut butter and canned goods; including beans, fruit, vegetables, soup, tuna in water meat and sauce. Glass containers should be avoided.

The food drive is sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers as part of their "Stamp Out Hunger" campaign.
