Man Accused of Credit Card Theft

A Monroe man made a complaint about unauthorized purchases on his credit car last year.

A Meriden man is facing charges after police say he was one of four people who made fraudulent purchases with a credit card.

Police received a complaint from a Monroe resident in November 2014 who reported fraudulent charges on his credit card. A total of eight fraudulent charges that totaled a little over $1,000 were made on his account at stores located in the Hartford area.

Police were able to identify four individuals who made purchases using the fraudulent credit card. Harding Johnson, 20, was one of the four individuals and a warrant was obtained for his arrest, police said. Wallingford police came into contact with Johnson and he was taken into custody.
