Man Attempts to Enter Cars at Fourth of July Party in Monroe: Cops

The man was reportedly seen running down Downs Road yelling "Help".

An Easton man is facing charges after police say a suspicious male was seen walking and running on Downs Road in Monroe yelling, “Help” on the Fourth of July.

The man later identified as Brandon Pontillo, 22 was also attempting to get into vehicles, police said.

When police arrived to investigate they were told that Pontillo was standing in a yard yelling and swearing at the homeowner. Pontillo then reportedly left the property and headed up Downs Road to the area of a large party.

According to police, on his way to the party Pontillo was observed attempting to get into cars parked on the road. He eventually found one truck open, allegedly entered the truck and appeared to be looking for the keys to the vehicle.

While interviewing people at the party, officers heard rustling in the woods and found Pontillo.

Witnesses identified Pontillo as being the person yelling in the roadway and trying to enter cars, police said.

He was arrested and charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and breach of peace. He was given a $1,000 bond and a court date of July 14.
