Man Dies in Monroe ATV Crash

From the Monroe Police Department:

On 12/27/2014 at 18:01 the Monroe Police Department responded to an accident involving an ATV (quad) on Turkey Roost Road. The operator of the ATV had been driving on the dark roadway and struck a curb. This caused the ATV to roll over.

The driver, John Compton (29) of 10 Quinsey Drive Bridgeport, and two juvenile passengers were thrown from the quad. Upon arrival officers found Compton unresponsive, lying in the road. The officers began to perform CPR until medical units arrived. The two juveniles were located and reunited with their parents. All three were transported to Bridgeport area hospitals due to their respective injuries.

Compton died at St Vincent’s hospital from his injuries. The Monroe Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit was called to document and investigate the crash scene.
