Man Facing DUI in Monroe After Not Stopping at Red Light
Police say the man admitted to consuming alcohol before driving the car.

A Stratford man was charged with a DUI in Monroe on Thursday.
According to police, an officer on patrol observed a blue 1990 Oldsmobile traveling west on Cross Hill Road around 1:15 a.m. that failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of Route 111.
After stopping the Oldsmobile and identifying Maximilian Menillo, 25 as being the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, police said.

Police said Menillo admitting to having one beer prior to operating the vehicle.
He failed standardized field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI and the traffic signal violation, police said.

According to police, during a pat down search of Menillo officers found that he had a ceramic marijuana smoking pipe in his pants pocket. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag which contained less than one half ounce of marijuana.
Menillo later admitting to smoking marijuana about ten minutes before he was stopped, police said.
He was charged with DUI, failure to obey traffic signal, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was given a $500 bond and a court date of July 7.
