Man Found in Possession of Heroin in Monroe: Police

The man was initially stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Route 34.

A Naugatuck man stopped for a motor vehicle violation in Monroe on Thursday night was later taken into custody.

According to police, after being stopped it was discovered that the Naugatuck Police Department had an active arrest warrant for Peter Johansen, 29 and he was taken into custody.

While being taken into custody, officers found drug paraphernalia in his pockets and seven folds containing a total of 2.3 grams of heroin in his Jeep, police said.

Johansen was charged with possession of narcotics (heroin) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was given a $1,000 bond and a court date of May 28.
