Masuk Grad Named To CT Women’s Basketball Hall Of Fame
Gena DePeano Cascio is part of the 2026 class, according to organizers.
MONROE, CT — Gena DePeano Cascio, a Masuk High School graduate, has been named to the 2026 Connecticut Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame class.
DePeano Cascio is among several inductees announced by the Connecticut Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, which recognizes contributions to the sport across the state.
She was a standout player at Masuk and later played at Southern Connecticut State University, where she was a starter on the 1983 team that advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four and scored more than 1,000 career points.

The 37th annual induction ceremony is scheduled for April 26 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, according to organizers.
The hall of fame was established in 1987 to honor players, coaches, officials and contributors to women’s basketball in Connecticut.
