In Memory of Maria Kamzik, 87, of Monroe

She was an avid bowler, loved camping, polka dancing and listening to traditional Czech music.

MONROE, CT — Maria Kamzik, age 87, of Monroe passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Danbury Hospital.

Born in Czechoslovakia on July 14, 1928 she was a daughter of the late Frantisek Fijak and Anezka Machova. Maria had worked as an assembler for Voltarc Tubes, formerly of Fairfield for many years before her retirement. She was an avid bowler and also loved camping. She also found great enjoyment polka dancing and listening to traditional Czech music. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Mike Pospisil and his wife Milla and George Pospisil and his wife Gail, all of Monroe, six cherished grandchildren, Vicky, Michael, Janie, Sara, Ryan and Tyler, her four great grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa, Mackenzie and James and two sisters, Jirina and Ruza, both of the Czech Republic. In addition to her husband Milan, she was also predeceased by her brother Drahus. A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016.
